One of the most common misconceptions is that prioritizing the well-being of employees and driving growth (in terms of profits) are mutually exclusive of each other. This is because most would think that providing stipends and incentives for their employees would increase the cost for operations, thereby reducing overall profits CITATION And17 \l 1033 (Anderson & Dees, 2017). However, in the recent Culture of Health Conference in Harvard, two departments – Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Harvard Business School – have collaborated to understand this gap and provide alternatives to address this issue. In the conference, the speakers have noted that addressing health issues of all stakeholders need not be costly. In fact, preventive methods (i.e., teaching about well-being and promotion of regular exercise) could help in the betterment of one’s health, while doing business.
