I have included the link for the online textbook if that does not work, I can copy the text. I have included the lectures from week 1-3. The information covered in this week's lecture and reading assignments will help you with the following assignment. Your answers should be concise, complete, and typed in a saved Microsoft Word document. When you are finished, upload the document to be graded using the drop box below. Written Assignment Week 3: The remaining written assignments in this course will build upon each other as you develop a fictional case study in the style of the case studies presented in chapters 12 through 15 of your textbook. Be sure to save your assignment in a safe place on your computer to build upon for next week's lesson. To begin, think of a problem in exercise science that can be addressed through evidence-based practice. Develop a question in the EBP style that will accurately address the problem. Then, use the tools mentioned in this week's lesson to research your topic. Include at least 5 links to research papers on your topic. Write an opening statement, a Background statement, and a Search Strategy for your case study.

Assignment Week 3 Student’s Name Institution of Affiliation Course Name Instructor’s Name Date Assignment Week 3 Opening Statement Sarcopenia is a disease that arises in older adults; it affects their muscles, weakening their muscle mass and strength. In addition, these diseases make these people prone to frequent falls, thus limiting their chances of moving around (Ardeljan & Hurezeanu, 2022). As the number of older individuals increases daily, the urge to implement appropriate ways to curb and limit Sarcopenia becomes essential. This study’s main objective is to determine whether progressive resistance training is efficient as compared to standard care in boosting the muscle strength and mass of aged individuals affected by Sarcopenia in a more than 12-week period. With the help of an evidence-based practice (EBP) approach, the study will determine the appropriate research for a proper intervention plan. Background Statement Currently, Sarcopenia is regarded as the upcoming health complication that is affecting the aged population of the society, explicitly targeting muscle mass and its strength. This disease is known for its contribution to a high number of older people's falls, injuries, and prolonged hospitalization, which in turn have led to a high mortality rate all over the world. The condition is estimated to range from 5% to 13% of people in the age gap of 60 to 70 years and continues to increase from 11% to 50% for those older individuals 80 years of age and older (Cleveland Clinic, 2022). Furthermore, Sarcopenia disease develops due to various factors in the body of older people, for example, adjustments in the lifestyle that they were used to while young, neurological elements such as weakness in the muscle motors and lack of a proper diet in their meals (Bilski, Pierzchalski, Szczepanik, Bonior, & Zoladz, 2022). Traditionally, the disease was overcome through frequent physical exercise programs that helped individuals gain the courage to move around, limiting the disease's effects. However, the development of progressive resistance training (PRT) has recently shown a positive impact on curbing the situation. On top of that, the training focuses on establishing a resistance mechanism and multiplication...
