Respiratory diseases are among the most crucial ailments in humans that affect the lungs and other parts of the respiratory system. One of the critical steps in diagnosing respiratory diseases is the ingenuity to differentiate between obstructive and restrictive lung disease (Sarkar et al., 2022). While both conditions show a reduced rate of pulmonary airflow, obstructive lung diseases result in difficulty with exhaling air. An example of this condition is asthma. On the other hand, restrictive lung disorder limits a person’s ability to inhale air, making the lungs not get filled fully with air, for instance, interstitial lung disorder.
Asthma, an example of obstructive respiratory disease, has one prevalent physiological condition called bronchial constriction, characterized by narrowing of the airway leading to chest wheezing and difficulties during breathing (Sarkar et al., 2022).
