Understanding the importance of nursing clinical outcomes and professional competencies is essential for any nursing professional. It allows him to know how each additional piece of information relates to the overall improvement in his provision of care. In this article, I would like to reflect on some of the topics that we have discussed during the course of the semester. Mainly, I would be focusing on key themes including; (1) MSN Program Outcomes, (2) MSN Essentials, and (3) NONPF Core Competencies. Nonetheless, I believe that improving one's understanding of a nursing professional's core competencies would further improve my skills and knowledge in my future practice.
Course Outcomes
The program has taught me a lot about further improving my skills, not only in the provision of care but also in various other fields such as prevention, research, and policy implementation that would be highly beneficial as I advance in my career.
MSN Program Outcomes
One of the essential skills that I have learned over the weeks is how to provide holistic care to the patient with a collaborative and evidence-based approach.
On the one hand, I realized that providing holistic care is crucial, particularly in end-of-life care, since it benefits patients' health and well-being (Caldeira, Timmins, de Carvalho, & Vieira, 2017). Providing this holistic approach and ensuring the patient's well-being, regardless of his background, beliefs, and status in life is one of a nursing professional's core competencies.
On the other hand, I also realized that using an evidence-based collaborative approach is highly beneficial in advanced nursing professionals.
