Gender stereotyping originates from both historical and our current assumption causing profound negative affect male-female relations. Gender stereotyping is a common occurrence in advertisements; one of the examples is the Sky Vodka advertisement. The picture depicts a man with sky vodka bottle hovering over a posture of a woman with provocative clothing. The picture of a half naked woman and the hovering man in the advert can by analyzed using two theories ; materialism and feminism theories. Materialism emphasizes the acquisition of property while feminism is about achieving equal human rights.
