Among the most important aspects of English language proficiency development are the integration of ELL cultural values and beliefs into instruction and the differentiation of instruction to address specific learning needs of all students.
For this assignment, you will create an English language arts lesson plan that integrates the cultural values and beliefs of ELLs and utilizes components of Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
Using the “COE Lesson Plan Template” and the “Class Profile,” create at least one learning objective for your chosen level of students between grades 6-12 that aligns with both Arizona ELP and ELA standards.
Your lesson plan should include:
Differentiated instructional strategies and learning activities to address students’ language differences, giftedness, and special education needs (as listed on the "Class Profile")
Incorporation of technology to support English language development
Formative and summative assessments for the learning activities
Your lesson plan must clearly express how the teacher will represent the concepts to be taught, how ELLs will express what they are learning, and how they will be engaged throughout the lesson.

The lesson focuses on helping students improve their English proficiency by introducing new strategies and tactics. The students will be exposed to technologies and instructions to enable them to achieve better results eventually.
Classroom and Student Factors/Grouping:
The important classroom factors that will make the planning effective include the students' level of proficiency, their giftedness, and students with behavioral concerns. The gifted students will be grouped and those with similar proficiency levels and behavioral concerns under different groups.
National/State Learning Standards:
Educators are required by state laws in Arizona to ensure they meet the students' standards of assessments and testing. The standards should be equivalent to what the students have learned in the classroom.
Specific Learning Target(s)/Objectives:
The target audience for the study plan includes students between grades 6 and 12. The objectives will include:
Helping students improve their English proficiency by utilizing technology and physical learning resources.
To help students who are gifted improve their abilities by exposing them to activities that will help nurture them in the future.

The terms will be taught to the students with the help of both visual and audio aids. This will enable them to know what is expected of them and what the vocabularies mean.
Resources, Materials, Equipment, and Technology:
The students will be provided with books as reading materials. The books will be given to them during lessons, and they can carry them at home for further readings or tests. Additionally, printed leaflets with guides on the lessons to be taught will also be given to them. They will enable them to understand the various aspects of the lesson that they are expected to grasp in the long run. Further, a projector will display content on a whiteboard enabling the instructor to give instructions. Also, printed instructions in large fonts will be provided on their working stations for the special students.
