This paper reviews the main physical changes as children transition from infancy to early and middle childhood and adolescence while concentrating on their motor and body development and the impacts of nurture and nature on their physical growth. Toddlers undergo significant physical changes that manifest as developmental milestones. Body growth manifests as the toddlers’ weight, head circumference, and length increase. Furthermore, the infant’s primitive reflexes change as the child matures. For instance, a one-month-old baby experiences physical changes by having a social smile (Balasundaram & Avulakunta, 2023). Additionally, the infant’s grasp reflex changes as she ages, and the child gets mature grasp skills by six months. In addition, the toddler develops motor skills like language and crawling (Overstreet, 2022). Motor development occurs as the toddler develops fine movement patterns and skills like crawling.
