It will encompass detailed examples demonstrating the development process. Human development is a continual process that transitions from one stage to another, each comprising unique development. Toddlerhood is a development phase with various changes. Toddlers experience self-awareness when they attain at least 15 months. A specific example demonstrating toddlers’ self-awareness behavior is when a child matches their body movements or facial expressions with their image in the mirror. The behavior shows self-recognition. Also, toddlers develop self-control to help them react appropriately to challenging scenarios. For example, engaging children in impulse control games is one way to introduce self-control. A game such as ‘hide and seek’ can allow the kids to obtain emotional understanding. Parents can foster self-awareness and self-control in toddlers using different approaches (Housman, 2017). For instance, they may assist their children learn to wait. The toddlers learn about self-control when they develop patience through waiting. Again, they become aware of the environment around them, understanding that others also have needs. Self-concept is how humans perceive their body features, abilities, and manners. Early childhood children develop self-concepts between 3 and 5 years old.
