Prototyping remains a critical part of product development, and through it is possible to turn an idea into a successful business or product. The first step is to identify and prototype a specific model of a gasoline-driven car that should serve as a prototype for conversion. While identifying the car model it is worth considering factors such as availability of parts, popularity, and the ease of conversion. Once a car model is identified, the next step is to sketch or design a conversion process. With a detailed design for converting prototype vehicles to electric engines, it becomes easier to communicate ideas and conversion requirements to the engineering team. The design identifies the most appropriate requirements including batteries, appropriate electric cars, wiring, and other components. Building a prototype conversion kit is one of the most critical stages in the prototyping process. Working with suppliers makes it possible to acquire necessary electric vehicle components and create any custom part necessary for the conversion process. Assembling all components into a prototype conversion kit for easier installation on the prototype vehicle. Once the prototype is ready, it becomes necessary to install the prototype conversion kit on the prototype vehicle and conduct the test to determine its performance, safety, and reliability. Testing creates room for gathering feedback and identifying issues as well as areas that need improvement. Finally, refining the prototype conversion comes last.
