The Tesla company has many subsidiaries around the world. The most notable ones are in the United States, China, and Japan. The US subsidiary is the most important one for the company. It is responsible for the majority of the sales and profit. China is also an important market for Tesla. Telsa has a factory in the Shanghai free trade zone (Trivedi, 2022). The government is convinced about the importance of electric vehicles in the future, and wants to promote them. Tesla's subsidiary in Japan, Tesla Japan Co., Ltd., is a joint venture between Tesla Motors, Inc. and Panasonic Corporation. Tesla Japan Co., Ltd. is engaged in the research, development, manufacture, and sale of electric vehicles and batteries (Alvarez, 2021). The Japanese subsidiary is responsible for a small portion of the sales. The company has a limited presence in Japan. The company has a very small market share in Japan and does not have a manufacturing or engineering base in the country

The company has a very strong brand name in the US and is considered to be a luxury brand. The company has a large number of Tesla stores in the US and a growing number of service centers. The company has a very good reputation for quality and customer service. It has been able to stay ahead of its competitors. Moreover, Tesla has managed to build a base of customers in the China (He, 2019). There have been several challenges in the country when it comes to getting permissions for electric vehicles. Tesla is betting on the Chinese market for future growth (He, 2019). The electric vehicle maker is not allowed to manufacture cars in the country by itself. It makes cars through a joint venture with local companies. On the other hand, the Japanese subsidiary offers a range of electric vehicles, including the Model S, Model X, and Model 3. Tesla Japan Co., Ltd. also offers energy storage solutions, such as the Powerwall and Powerpack (Alvarez, 2021). Telsa comply with the regulatory environment in Japan by adhering to environmental regulations and standards for the manufacture and sale of electric vehicles. Tesla is also required to follow the same safety and quality standards as other businesses in Japan.
Exposure Analysis
A company like Tesla, engages in business transactions with a foreign company, it exposes itself to the risks inherent in incurring expenses denominated in a currency other than its own. Such transactions include purchases of materials, parts and accessories, but also the issue of debt denominated in the foreign currency. Tesla is not the company's only operation. It also has a number of operations outside the United States in Canada, China, Hong Kong, and Australia (Trivedi, 2022).
