Introduction
Apprentice programs are some of the most crucial programs in the efforts to make sure that the various students and young technicians gain skills in their fields. Today, the global economy is experiencing stiff competition and thus the need for highly seasoned employees. These employees have the ability to drive the future of their companies and the economy as well. The government has been offering funds to develop the talent pools in the various industries in the country. The apprenticeship programs are the future of training and the base for the future work force skills and abilities (Noe, 2010). Bodywork Company, which is one of the firms that works in the industry of motor vehicle repair, could use the development of an apprentice program (Industry Training Authority, 2014). The company has had more than five decades in the industry, but has not had a program where they can use the experience to harness young talents, as part of developing the industry. This program aims at improving the skills level in the industry alongside the technological changes that have come up in the last decade, increasing efficiency and accountability.
The program
This program will be open to all those students that have had their diploma as well as degrees related to motor vehicle collision repair. Other than the academic knowhow, the applicants will also have to be 18 years and above. The program will involve both theoretical and technical approaches. This means that, the students will have normal short time classes and long practical hours in the field. During this time, the students will have the chance to interact with the collision technicians. They will also interact with mechanical engineers, as part of the technical team.
