The company employs more than 2 million staffs, making it one of the corporations with a high number of employees (Noe, 2010). The diversity at the company is also one to be reckoned with as it spreads from the staffs to the community and to the suppliers. Wal-Mart, has integrated the idea if diversity into its culture. Regardless of one’s color, religion of heritage, Wal-Mart guarantees that every can get a job at the stores. At the same time, the corporate social responsibility initiatives are directed at the community members without discrimination.
Wal-Mart takes pride in helping the communities where it operates as a way of giving back. At the same time the company has set up measures to ensure that the suppliers are also diversified. Suppliers from all walks of life have the chance to work with Wal-Mart (Noe, 2010). According to their website, Wal-Mart has been working with more than 3000 suppliers from the minority groups and even women groups from all over the world.
