Issues that Increase Transfer of Leaning
Transfer of learning involves the ability of employees to apply what they have learned in training in their daily work practises (Noe, 2010). Various issues increase the transfer of learning, and they include; the training design and it primarily involves the use of appropriate materials, giving the employees a chance to practise what they have learnt and to have an effective feedback program that can relay the activities of the employees as entailed in their job description; the other issue may also be trainees characteristics which includes his degree of innovation and the motivation he/ she has. This is because a disoriented worker can never apply what they have learnt even if the training was spot on since they do not believe they can do that. Finally, the last issue is the work environment. With a friendly workplace, employees are more at ease to try what they have learnt without fear of being rebuked if they fail as is characteristic in rigid and dictatorial workplaces.
Obstacles that Hinder Transfer of Learning
While transfer of learning is crucial in the success of the company, there are some issues that hinder the transfer of the same. One of the hindrances is a workplace condition that has inadequate equipment, as opposed to what was available during the training. This results in very few opportunities for employees to apply the same because with the lack of equipment, trainees have difficulties using the newly acquired knowledge (Noe, 2010).
