Introduction
Whitbread PLC is a renowned British multinational restaurant and hotel that was founded by Samuel Whitbread in 1742. Whitbread’s partners were Thomas and Godfrey Shewell. In 2000, Whitbread PLC sold its brewery business, Marriott Hotels, David Lloyd Leisure, Pizza Hut, and TGI Fridays. Indeed, it merged Premier Lodge Hotels and Travel Inn (Whitbread, 2022d). Currently, Premier Inn has over 820 hotels and more than 80,000 rooms across the United Kingdom (UK). The hotel serves approximately 5 million clients monthly. Due to its unique ownership operating model, Premier Inn has grown significantly faster than its competitors since it has consistently provided a superior customer experience.
