Whitbread’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Strategy and Stakeholder Relations
Read ‘Material 1 and Material 2 and based on ONLY these two materials:
Evaluate the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy and how it relates to its stakeholders.
Your answer to this part should be no more than 900 words.
This part focuses on CSR strategy and requires that you apply theoretical concepts and frameworks covered in Week 4 to the case company by using evidence provided in Materials Part 3. The question asks that you evaluate the company’s CSR strategy to elaborate on its strengths and weaknesses and how it relates to its stakeholders.
A possible way to answer is to begin by first identifying the stakeholders. How does the company prioritise conflicting demands and needs of its stakeholders? How does it use its CSR strategy to address those demands and needs? These are important questions which you are expected to deal with in your answer.
You need to demonstrate an understanding of the concepts you choose and your ability to apply these concepts to the case company.
Long descriptions of theoretical concepts related to stakeholder management and CSR will not attract many marks. In contrast, discussion of stakeholder prioritisation and the meaningfulness of CSR strategy, demonstrating a critical approach to theory you have been studying, will improve your grade.

Whitbread’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Strategy and Stakeholder Relations
Company Social Responsibility (CSR) is the area where a company's actions and the way they affect society meet. It requires a careful balance between making money and meeting the needs of all parties. This essay looks at how the CSR programs described by Carroll (1991; 2016) and Whitbread (2022a) meet the needs of a wide range of users. Whitbread's "Force for Good" project shows how its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach combines a commitment to business growth with a commitment to social welfare. Ethical sources, community involvement, and environmental survival are all critical parts of this approach. Whitbread's CSR efforts cover a wide range of areas and try to help many groups, such as owners, workers, towns, and the environment. Their strategy is in line with modern theories of corporate social responsibility (CSR), which stress creating shared value and having a duty that goes beyond making money.
Identifying Stakeholders and Prioritization
There were a lot of different types of interests in Whitbread’s company that were examined. These included owners, workers, customers, neighbourhoods, and governments. To successfully carry out a corporate social responsibility (CSR) plan, it is essential to understand and rank these factors. The main goal of this program is to promote affordable medical care
