Over the years, there have been efforts to come up with the most favorable means of defining quality health care services. The different parties involved, including patients, physicians, regulatory agencies and the hospitals have a different perspective on the matter. These are differences that arise from the fact that each of the party has their own measuring criterion and thus there definition of quality comes as varying as well (Weiner, 2014).
According to the patients, quality health care services relate to the preferences and the values that the patients have. This means that their definition is also hinged to the level of satisfaction that they get from services provided. Health care personnel such as physicians on the other hand have a different definition. They tend to define quality in health care with respect to the results of the services and the attributes of care provided. Their definition also includes excellence in technicalities in health care provision (Lin, Xirasagar & Laditka, 2004).
