Please respond and explain the following:
1. Name your favorite composer of the symphony. And explain why this is your favorite composer?
2. As described in Chapter 6 (p. 84), the cadenza is an important feature of the concerto. Choose either Concerto No. 23 in A Major, K. 488, mvt. 1 (Mozart) or Concerto in E minor for Violin, op. 64, mvt. 1 (Mendelssohn), from this week's Listening Activities. Although you may not understand the technique and challenges for the appropriate instrument, describe your experience while listening to/watching the cadenza for the selected example.
The following are the start and end timings in the videos for each cadenza:
Mozart = 8:44 - 9:57
Mendelssohn = 7:30 - 8:54
Your initial response should be a minimum of 250 words. Then write a response if support of your initial response as well as a response in opposition of your initial response. Each subsequent response should be a minimum of 125 words.

My favorite composer of the Symphony is Ludwig van Beethoven. I love his music because it is powerful and emotional. The work is unique and timeless and still resonates with people today. His music makes one feel something, whether it be joy or sadness, and it is beautiful. He wrote iconic works, such as his 9th Symphony and "Moonlight" sonata. Besides, his music has had a lasting impact on the world and will continue to inspire generations.
I chose to listen to the Cadenza in Mozart's Concerto No. 23 in A Major, K. 488, mvt. 1. When listening to this Cadenza, I experienced a feeling of tension and release. The Cadenza then transitioned into a slower and more lyrical section, which featured beautiful melodies and harmonies. This section of the Cadenza provided a moment of respite and a release of the tension.
The Cadenza is integral to the concerto and can be applied in real life. It can represent growth and self-expression while showcasing one's skill and talent. It is a great way to show confidence and take risks when facing a challenge or difficult situation. It can also demonstrate perseverance, as the soloist must remain focused and concentrated throughout the Cadenza. It is an excellent example of pushing oneself to the limit and staying determined to reach a goal. I believe this piece is a great example of the creative spirit that is alive in the world today.
