Experience working in a food production and delivery company confirmed that planning is a fundamental phase of a firm’s success. As one of the primary functions of the Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR) model, planning establishes the foundation for achieving other steps that contribute to desirable customer experience. For instance, it integrates diverse approaches that balance the demand and supply and ensure the company’s production satisfies the market’s requirements (Nicoletti, 1). The author reveals that approaching planning with a thorough understanding of the interconnection between the diverse operations in a company prepares the stage for success. Such an aspect aligns other fundamental components, including human resources, logistics, suppliers, and customer needs, to guide the company in providing the best experience for its clients.
