The societal emotional process in the Bowen theoretical model addresses the behavior of an individual on the societal level. The culture that anyone lives in the society forms an important part as the individual is not only within the confines of the family unit. Bowen theory on family systems does not focus on pathology rather the theory seeks to identify what is normal within the family setting for optimum functioning.
