How FIFA Reformed After the 2015 Scandal After the corruption scandal of 2015, FIFA introduced various reforms. They aimed to prevent future occurrence of these issues, as well as address modern-day challenges. To begin with, the FIFA Executive Committee was abolished and then replaced with a FIFA Council comprising 36 members (Bason, Salisbury, & Gérard, 2019). How FIFA operates today FIFA operates under a structured hierarchy designed to promote accountability and governance. At the top is the supreme decision-making body, the FIFA Congress, which is made up of voting members from each member association (Bason, Salisbury, & Gérard, 2019). Below this is the Ethics Committee, which is split into investigatory and adjudicatory chambers, ensuring integrity within the organization.
