Job Satisfaction Vs. Organizational Commitment Name Course Professor Date What Is More Important to You: Job Satisfaction or Organizational Commitment, and Why? Analyzing job satisfaction and organizational commitment in isolation confirms that the former is more important to me because it has diverse impacts on my desire to work in an organization. According to Eliyana, job satisfaction highlights how employees feel contented with their work environment, including work schedules, compensations, and awards (1). Such features illustrate my prioritization of this concept more than organizational commitment because it determines one’s willingness to perform optimally. Many other factors emphasize my consideration of job satisfaction as a more critical aspect in the work setting. For instance, DeNisi and colleagues indicate that satisfied employees display happiness in starting their daily responsibilities and executing them without reluctance because they feel appreciated and have a sense of belonging within the organization (2, p. 295). I also feel that satisfaction arises from the professional and supportive interactions between my workmates and supervisors, which makes it exciting to report to work every day. Such aspects eradicate any thoughts of leaving the work or constantly searching for alternative employment because I feel part of the institution. Thus, job satisfaction determines the level of commitment to the company, emphasizing its high ranking. How Has That Impacted Your Work Performance? Satisfaction with my job has remained the leading factor for my exceeding expectations performance. Since joining the company, I have received several recognitions due to my ability to complete my assignments and even assist my colleagues when they face challenges in area...
