Neuroplasticity is one of the most exciting things that educators can contemplate while working with students who have learning problems or disability. Many studies have proven that early intervention and targeted support can help students build new neural pathways and enhance existing ones, resulting in better academic results (NICHDVideos, 2015). As a teacher, being aware of the brain’s malleability capacities can encourage applying evidence-based techniques and modifications tailored to each student’s needs, which will lead to academic and personal development. Suppose students have difficulties with reading because of learning disabilities like dyslexia. In that case, educators can apply this knowledge to ensure that they give the students systematic, multisensory instruction that includes multiple brain regions and promotes the growth of new neural connections (NICHDVideos, 2015).
