One is the lack of vital skills and necessary training to get the jobs posted and the lack of awareness of where to get the necessary training for the jobs. Also, working twelve-hour shifts per day for two weeks straight meant being away from family and friends for extended periods and overlooking traditions of hunting and fishing to care for their families, which violated Inuit culture. To establish the presence of other underlying issues, AEM can conduct regular segmented surveys on their employees to get feedback on what they feel about their jobs and the challenges facing each group of people. Conducting regular interviews can also help employees express what they are feeling and the individual challenges they are facing.
