The variables of interest for this project are gender, psychology graduate admission, and GPA. This project aims to demonstrate the application of descriptive statistics, which include frequency distribution and measures of central tendency and variability. You must have SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences; it is a statistical software) on your computer to download SPSS. You have three options for getting SPSS: 1. Go to the PVAMU Library and use SPSS on the computers or to room 260 in the psych building. 2. Access a Free Trial of SPSS and download it on your computer. Make sure your laptop is compatible with SPSS. Here is the link for the free trial: Sign up for IBM SPSS Statistics 3. Click on the drop-down menus Click on “IBM SPSS Statistics 28 (wait a minute or two for SPSS to load) When SPSS is ready, click New Data Set or open an existing SPSS file. Watch this on how to analyze your data with SPSS. Guidelines The variables of interest for this project are gender, psychology graduate admission, and GPA. This project aims to demonstrate the application of descriptive statistics, which include frequency distribution and measures of central tendency and variability. After running the frequency distribution in SPSS, provide the appropriate graphs for the variables of interest. You must include the following in your report: A description of the participants by Sample size Gender Psychology graduate admission GPA Descriptive statistics for GPA by gender (i.e., means and standard deviations) Include a table and graph to provide illumination Your assignment submission should be 2- 3 pages in length. It should contain proper grammar, be free of spelling errors, and reflect critical thinking. Review the sample written report in Module 1 before writing your report.
