In the following study, three different universities have been tracking a select group of professors over the course of their employment at that university to determine the number of students who are in a particular professor’s classes, how many of those students have graduated, and if any of them have had their work published. The attached Excel file PROBABILITIES Download PROBABILITIESare the totals for each of the professors at the three different universities that participated in the study.
The purpose of this study is to find the probabilities of graduation and publication for the students in the different professors’ courses. While a causal relationship may not be found between a professor and student graduation or publication, we need to rank the professors based on the different probabilities found using the data sets as described below.
Prepare a report (see below) with your ranking of the professors based on the probabilities and conditional probabilities as well as the analysis of each university. Include the following seven (7) items in table format which is provided in the PROBABILITIES Download PROBABILITIESfile to support your ranking.
NOTE: Be sure to retain and report five (5) decimal places for each of your probabilities. Do not convert your computed probabilities to percentages, as we are only interested in probabilities here.
The overall probability of students graduating at each of the three universities.
The overall probability of students having a publication at each of the three universities.
The overall probability of students having a publication, given that they graduated at each of the three universities.
The probability of a student graduating for each professor.
The probability of a student having a publication for each professor.
The probability of a student having a publication, given that they graduated for each professor.
Rank the professors within each university for each of the probabilities in 4-6. Then find the sum of the ranks and determine an overall ranking for each professor.
Be sure to critically analyze the above calculations in your body paragraphs, explaining how you found each type of probability and then the results that you obtained. Be sure to also explain your criteria for ranking in steps 4-7, being sure to defend why you chose that particular ranking method, as your way might not be the typical method.

The research in three universities, including WWCC, EWCC, and NWCC, tried observing the professors to know the graduation and publishing status of the students enrolled in their classes. The main objective was establishing the likelihood of graduating and publishing and the conditional probabilities of publishing, given graduation. Using these probabilities, professors were put in rank to establish their effectiveness in promoting the set student results. This report highlights the outcomes of the conducted analysis of Computer Science overall university and specific professors' ratings.
Overall Probabilities for Each University
The graduation and publication rates were first determined for each university. The overall probability of students graduating at each university was calculated by taking the proportion of the total number of graduates to the total teaching count of the university. The graduation probabilities for the WWCC program, EWCC program, and NWCC program were 12.49228, 11.63113, and 11.55288. Though these probabilities are not significantly far from one another, WWCC had the highest probability of graduation, indicating a more successful student retention and completion rate in a long time.
In the same way, the likelihood of publication was computed by dividing the number of publications among the students by the number of students who were taught. The obtained accuracy was for WWCC: 4.63122, EWCC: 4.8900, and NWCC: 4.00303. While EWCC was slightly more successful than the other two universities in terms of the overall frequency of publications, all three universities can be characterized as moderately successful in promoting student participants' research and publication activities.
The conditional probability of publication that a student graduated was also evaluated. This metric gives an idea of the probability that the graduating student will be able to publish for a start. EWCC was once more at the top with the probability value of 5.19840, followed by the WWCC at 5.44290 and finally the NWCC at 4.4660. This implies that EWCC offers research mentorship more than UCAC, particularly for students who complete their programs.
