Description:
This assignment provides students the opportunity to develop their presentation and engagement skills by teaching relevant course content to other students in an articulate and interactive manner. These are required skills in the social services sector.
Instructions:
1) Students are to sign up for one of the following presentation dates and modules (Depending on class size, some students may be required to present in pairs)
****Week 5: Social Work Ethics (Feb.7) Ryan
2) Students are to review the existing PowerPoint presentations and readings found under the associated course Content section on Slate and teach this to their peers.
3) Students have between 60- 90 mins to facilitate the class discussion. A 90 min discussion should incorporate the weekly practicum check-in.
4) Students are encouraged to include creativity and engaging techniques to facilitate an interactive discussion.
5) While not required, students may conduct additional research on their assigned topic, particularly for the modules that have limited information. Students may include additional, relevant information.
6) While additional readings are not required, students are to identify and forward to their Professor any readings at least one week prior to their presentation date. This is to allow their peers sufficient time to review the readings. ***NO ADDITIONAL READING NEEDED
7) The Professor will be available throughout the discussion to provide assistance as needed.
As with all the assignments in FLPL20065, students will receive 100 marks for completing the assignment. Students who do not complete this assignment will receive 0 marks.

This presentation focuses on facilitating social work ethics. Social work is a challenging profession that demands a unique exploration of various issues. The Core Theme
The concept of professional accountability is the core theme of this presentation. Professional accountability is the cornerstone of social work practice as it guides every decision aspect of the profession. In other words, social workers are expected to adhere to the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics to direct their decision-making and their relationship with clients. Further, the workers must understand the law surrounding their practice. The above standards of practice serve a purpose whether they deal with pressures from colleagues, employers, or organization policies.
