The reliance on this technology undermines the ability to gauge and understand the students' knowledge level, which impacts learning negatively (Garcia-Martinez et al., 2023). For students, the impact is equal as AI technology undermines their ability to conduct research and improve their knowledge of subjects. Research shows that more students are currently relying on AI technology to complete their assignments, impacting their ability to understand concepts and ideas in class (Garcia-Martinez et al., 2023). As such, it is essential to research the impacts of AI generative content on students and instructors. * Specific Aims/Study Objectives 1 Understand the extent of AI tool usage among online students. 2 Identify challenges faced by instructors in measuring student knowledge accurately. 3 Gather suggestions on effective assessment methods that can mitigate the influence of AI tools. 4 Evaluate the perceived effectiveness and fairness of current assessment practices. * Materials, Methods, and Analysis (Qualitative and Quantitative) 1 The study will adopt the survey as the primary data collection method to gather primary information from the sample. A mixed study method comprising ethnographic and pre- and post-assessment studies will be conducted. 2 The tools that will be utilized for the research include surveys and questionnaires. Additionally, a learning analytic system will be used to assess how students interact with AI systems. Other materials that will also be used in the study include STATA, which will help analyze large datasets for the quantitative part of the study.
