For Musk to be where he is today, he has worked hard for it through technological innovations and inventions that have changed people's lives for the better.
Musk completed his Ph.D. during the era of the Internet boom. In 1995, Musk, together with his brothers Greg Kouri and Kimbal Musk, started a company called Zip2. Initially, Zip2 was called Global Link Information Network. Musk is a creative and critical thinker. When opening Zip2, Musk wanted to ensure that businesses can use the Internet for advertising their products. For this reason, Zip2 offered local firms a web presence such that they can reach many people. Zip2 helped numerous businesses to present their products and services on the Internet. Due to his brilliant business ideas, Musk always gets funding for his projects (Huddleston). For instance, when starting Zip2, Musk was funded by his brothers and a small group of investors. X.com acquired the name PayPal when the company merged with Confinity, an online bank. One of the challenges that Musk experienced while working at X.com was when the management perceived him as an inexperienced person. At some point, he was replaced by Bill Harris, although it did not take a long period before he returned to being the CEO of PayPal. Musk has always relied on technology for his business models. With time, Musk became one of PayPal's largest shareholders and owned 11.7% of the company's shares. In 2002, eBay acquired PayPal for about $1.5 billion (Huddleston). Musk's excellent entrepreneurial ideas enable him to start and run highly profitable companies.

Musk decided to start SpaceX to make affordable rockets after he was offered a rocket at $8 million by Kosmotras, a Russian firm (Muegge and Reid). The individual launched Falcon 1 successfully in 2008 after three failed attempts. Notably, for Musk, it does not matter how many times he fails, but he never loses hope.
