How does Pina Bausch’s innovative approach and stylistic choices impact the audiences understanding of Dance Theater?
Research Paper Instructions:
It has to be a persuasive research essay. My outline is as follow:
Introduction:
Historical and Theatrical Context of Pina Bausch Traditions
The selected aspects of theory and the context such as: Personal experience, storytelling, collaboration, use of props and objects, and influences and styles.
Generally state her theories and her stylistic choices in use of props and objects.
State the issue(s) and conflict and a possible solution(s) (Pros & Cons).
The issue is that she has faced criticism for her choices and approaches. Another issue is that her work is perceived to be avant-garde style which can be inaccessible to the audience, limiting the reach of her impactful work. The solution therefore lies on balance and on the person itself.
If the person is a traditionalist then they mostly oppose and if they are not then they’ll be routing.
Body Paragraph One:
Explain the theories further providing examples and supporting them with primary evidence.
Then putting my research to the test, challenging her theories I wanted to go the extra mile by conducting a personal practical research. I would like to do it through a reflection of my dance experience carrier and what I have learned.
Body Paragraph Two:
The audience's impact, understanding and connection to Pina Bausch's innovative approach and stylistic choices. The multiple ways of soaking in the information as an audience member. This varies from person to person. Of course this Theater style is not suitable for kids but rather young adults and older. More specifically 17+
Will be thinking primarily on physicality and expressionism as well as costume but will also include a little bit about lights.
Body Paragraph Three:
I may need this extra paragraph to help me break down and spread the information equally and easily for the reader to understand.
Conclusion:
This is so what? Is there a solution? which one? In this case the solution will be very much open as it is psychological and changes for each and every person. However it may also be clear that there may be general points which are valid for a large group of audience.
****REferences
It is required at least three:
One Primary Source,
One Secondary Source and
One Tertiary Source,
but I would also include a fourth source
