Research Paper Instructions:
You will complete the rough draft of the Methods section for your final research paper. This section will consist of the following components.
Introduction: Write a brief introduction to your methods section. In this section, briefly introduce your topic, variables, and research question(s). For each research question, you must include a null and alternative hypothesis. This section of your paper should be four to six sentences.
Participants: Write a paragraph describing your participants. This section should include the number of participants, the required characteristics of the participants, and a clear plan on how you will recruit the participants for your study. This section should be one to two paragraphs.
Materials: Write a paragraph describing the materials (surveys, classrooms, tests) you need to accomplish your study. This section needs to address each of your variables. It is recommended that you write one paragraph per variable in your study. Each paragraph will describe how the variable is operationalized and materials needed to measure it in your study. You must be specific. If you are using a survey, you must list the name of the survey and cite it. If you are creating groups, you must describe your exact method for accomplishing this. Reliability and validity information must be included for each measure (e.g., Cronbach’s alpha, interrater reliability, test-retest reliability). Reminder: You cannot create your own surveys/questionnaires in this assignment. You must use a valid and reliable measure and cite it.
Procedure: Write a paragraph describing the step-by-step process one must follow to collect data for your study. If you are assigning groups, you must detail that process. If you are administering surveys, you must describe how/where participants are receiving the surveys. This section must also describe how and when participants will give their informed consent in the process. This section will vary based on study complexity, but should range between, one to three paragraphs.

Psychological Effects of Criminal Acts on Victims
Method
Introduction
This research study reflects the psychological impacts of criminal acts on victims. The study will examine how trauma, depression, and anxiety are noticeable in persons following criminal victimization. The research further explores how these psychological impacts differ depending on determinants, including gender, age, nature of the crime, and socioeconomic status. The study's questions include "What are the long-term psychological effects of domestic violence and sexual assault on victims?” “How do factors such as age, gender, race, and socioeconomic status influence the psychological impact of being a crime victim?” “What role does the victim-offender relationship play in shaping the psychological effects of the crime?” “What are the mechanisms through which crime-related trauma influences victims' mental health, such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse?” “How does family, community, and therapy support influence the psychological recovery of crime victims?” “What are the psychological effects of repeated victimization (continued exposure)?” and “Does lack of enforced policies impact victims from coming forward (How many suffer alone in silence)?” For every research question, the null hypothesis supposes no substantial relation between the psychological impacts and variables. In contrast, the alternate hypothesis assumes there exists a notable correlation with variables like anxiety, trauma, and depression.
Participants
Two hundred fifty participants aged 18-65 will participate in the study. These individuals will be those who have been subjected to abuse such as sexual assault and domestic violence in the past. The research will foster diversity by selecting participants from different contexts, such as race, age, gender, nature of crime, and socioeconomic status. These dynamics are integral in understanding the variation in psychological responses. Different populations are essential to realizing the study's goals and ensuring its results represent the population efficiently. Thus, excluding diverse respondents fosters the research to achieve biased and stereotyped conclusions (Almouzni, 2024). For this study, inclusion measures would require past experiences with victimization with individuals who reported depression or trauma as a result of domestic violence or sexual assault. Exclusion determinants would entail those persons receiving treatment for diseases unrelated to the subject matter or individuals with substance use treatment to ensure they do not influence the research results. Conversely, the study will select a sample size to ensure enough statistical power to examine the variables' links.
The study would recruit respondents by partnering with organizations that offer aid to victims of crime. The broader population would be targeted through the incorporation of social media platforms. The study will e...
