This procedure shows that even though some people have been rightly convicted, another group of people still have been wrongfully convicted. This study, therefore, seeks the reasons that have caused wrongful convictions and the reforms that law enforcement can employ to detect and reduce the errors that happen in the criminal justice system. Most scholars have studied the features of most wrongful convictions, including analyzing the archival records and using the public registries of the exonerations. To understand the varying characteristics, scholars have combined different critical disciplines such as criminology, psychology, law, and statistics since they explain different aspects regarding wrongful convictions and ways that can help to prevent future errors. Since wrongful conviction is a global problem, the conversation and research are international on the varying jurisdictions.
