It spanned several centuries, from the rise of early Greek societies around 1600 BCE to the Hellenistic period following the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BCE. This paper discusses the rise of Greek civilization, Alexander the Great, ancient Greek dressing, and human sacrifices. The Rise of Greek Civilization Greek civilization began in 1200 BC and laid the groundwork for later art, architecture, and governance developments. Eugen Weber acknowledges that Western civilization depends on the structures and thoughts initially associated with the Greeks (The Chronicler’s Tale, 2020a). Many renowned philosophers in history hail from the Greek community because the Greeks questioned daily events without regional or religious bias. Early rulers in the world were ruthless and greedy for riches and power. Successive battles forced the community in Greece to unite and fight back against their enemies. In the 4th century BC, a poor Athenian called Demosthenes became a political leader who affected and changed society positively (The Chronicler’s Tale, 2020).
