Obesity is the accumulation of excessive fat within the body above the normal level. It may also be associated with different aspects of specific fatty-based meals. According to World Health Organization, obesity is rampant in both developed and developing countries. Digital snacks are exposing the current generation to increased obesity: the paper probes obesity, its risks, causes, prevalence in the current society, and treatment. The identified aspects are essential since they make timely management of the epidemic. Obesity adversely impacts one's physical and biological lifestyle. The risk of obesity is also associated with body inflammation. Inflammation of the body is majorly considered from the high amount of cholesterol in the body. It is essential to note that there are some specific inflammations with an increased amount of the body, especially the stomach and joints. This consequently leads to reduced mobility. The patient is unable to walk long distances successfully. Age and economy is another major contributor to obesity. Obesity occurs at all ages, from children to adults. However, the aged and young children are the most exposed to obesity. There are various reasons behind the identified children. Based on age, there is an increase in hormonal changes, and these changes contribute to obesity in various ways. Cancer is also a prevalent health risk that is contributed by obesity. The common types of cancers that are attributed to the disease are those incorporated with blood and digestion. It is essential to note that with poor blood supply and circulation due to a high amount of cholesterol, it becomes extremely difficult for individuals to conduct their duties normally. It is also noted that despite the disease lacking cancerous contents, it indirectly leads to blood cancer.

Obesity is also linked to specific cases, such as cardiovascular diseases as well as different types of diabetes (Heymsfield & Wadden, 2017). Therefore, it is important to focus on the specific type of meals that would not adversely impact the normal body system. Obesity can be linked to the eating behavior of any individual. Most people who regularly consume high-fat-based products are likely to experience obesity. Furthermore, solutions to obesity may vary from each other; however, the direct solution to obesity is weight reduction. Weight reduction may be physically or biologically addressed. Weight reduction may also be noted to result from how the patients carry themselves. According to Heymsfield & Wadden (2017), nurses and practitioners play a significant role in determining the rate of weight reduction. An appropriate weight assessment can also be used as a tool in determining to what rate an individual is likely to be impacted.
Additionally, it is also essential to note that in the current society, there are numerous types of food that are linked to higher obesity risks. Obesity can be contributed by specific inheritance and influences. It is noted that most individuals who tend to become obese have a significant family member, especially the mother or father who suffers from the same. It is also stated that such individuals who suffer from obesity may have an ancestral line with the same condition (Wadden & Bray, 2018). Due to the genes from the family members, the ability to regulate fats is an issue. Genetics plays a critical role in determining to what rate an individual is likely to digest the consumed fats. Therefore, whenever family members have a poor ability to regulate or digest fats, they are likely to suffer from obesity.
Additionally, genetics are also likely to impact one's appetite and the types of meals that they are likely to consume (Wadden & Bray, 2018). Therefore, in most cases, it is noted that the rate at which the body burns calories depends on genetics, an indicator that the family influences one's ability to be obese. Management of obesity should therefore be conducted by considering the family options and growth.
The other cause of obesity is lifestyle. Lifestyle refers to the manner in which one is able to carry themselves when it comes to meal consumption. Furthermore, it is also necessary for an individual to determine the nature of meals upon which they consume (Engin, 2017). Under lifestyles, there are three significant aspects that contribute to obesity. They include inactivity, liquid calories, and an unhealthy diet. To begin with, inactivity is the ability of one to ignore basic physical exercises, which eventually lead to unburned calories. Inactivity is a choice of an individual. Those individuals who live a sedentary lifestyle are likely to experience issues associated with obesity (Engin, 2017). In other words, a sedentary lifestyle hinders one from actively participating in normal activities, an issue that consequently leads to obesity. It is necessary for one to constantly take part in the daily routine, an aspect that contributes to healthiness and growth (Engin, 2017). Some of the activities which contribute to inactivity include regular use of phones and other electronic gadgets. Therefore, inactivity leads to obesity.
In addition to this, liquid calories contribute to a higher portion of obesity. The most known type of liquors which lead to increased obesity are those with alcohol content. It is noted that alcohol contains a huge amount of calories which are not known. Due to the increased amount consumed, their digestion is also impacted; this eventually leads to increased exposure to obesity (Heymsfield & Wadden, 2017). Other than the increased calories in alcohol, more calories are known to come from soft sugar drinks. With all these types of beverages, it becomes challenging to take part in activities that lead to physical activeness. The last category under lifestyle that contributes to obesity is an unhealthy diet. Diet is a crucial aspect of every human being. Anyone should have a healthy diet to enable them to take part in normal body operations successfully. More focus is put on specific fast foods in the digital world, which contributes to increased calories (Heymsfield & Wadden, 2017). Therefore, it is essential to avoid increased exposure to fast food, a major contributor to obesity. It is necessary to note that fast food regulation should be incorporated to ensure a healthy society with the increased fast-food economy.
Other than lifestyles, another cause of obesity is increased medications as well as diseases. There are some diseases that secondarily lead to obesity. Some syndromes that contribute to obesity include Cushing syndrome and Prader-Willi (Skinner et al., 2018). The identified diseases lead to inactivity, which consequentially leads to increased exposure to the disease. It is fundamental to note that some of the diseases also lead to weight gain. Therefore, it is important to know that with the increased exposure to the identified diseases, the results eventually lead to obesity. There are also specific medications whose side effects contribute to obesity. Some medications lead to increased appetite, which ultimately contributes to the identified diseases (Skinner et al., 2018). The common diseases include beta-blockers, steroids, antipsychotic medications, diabetes medications, among others (Skinner et al., 2018). Therefore, it can be concluded that one of the major contributors to obesity is unregulated diseases and medications.
Age and economy is a major contributor to obesity. Obesity occurs at all ages, from children to adults. However, the aged and young children are the most exposed to obesity.
