Research Critique #1: CHF and Lasix

Research critique paper Students should format a PICO question based on the following scenario: Sally is an 80 year old female who presents with increasing shortness of breath. She has had a 5lb weight gain in the past 2 days. She has a past medical history of CHF, Aortic stenosis and HTN. NKA. She is currently on Lasix 40mg daily, KCL 20 meq daily, Lisinopril 5mg daily and ASA 81 mg daily. Vitals are as follows 98.4- 100- 22 140/80. Heart is regular and slightly tachycardic. Lungs have bibasilar rales. Lower extremities have +2 pitting edema. The PICO question should be included in the introduction to the paper to indicate the problem that the student will address. These articles will be used to create a table of evidence that is attached as an appendix. The table will include an Article title, citation, results, nursing implications, study limitations, purpose, method of study, recommendations, conclusion, and the level and grade of evidence that must be provided. The paper should consist of a thorough review of the literature with the table of evidence used as an appendix. Students should also include a discussion on how the literature can be applied to the patient's situation using the information in the Greenhalgh text. The paper should be set up in paragraph format and flow smoothly. Four articles on the effectiveness of lasix on acute heart failure patients must be critiqued.
