The practicum goals make the learning outcomes meaningful and measurable. This paper presents my targeted practicum goals and the main activities that will help me to accomplish them. These goals are correlated with the professional competencies of the advanced nursing practice. Practicum Objectives and Key Activities One of the most important goals of my practicum is to develop my leadership and use evidence-based strategies to facilitate quality enhancement. This, as Välimäki et al. (2024) propose, will assist me in gaining the required skills to impact the provision of healthcare and patient outcomes. I will collaborate with the nurse managers to review unit performance measures, such as patient safety measures. I will also participate in interdisciplinary meetings in order to monitor the decision-making process and provide input where necessary. I will also create a small project to fill a practice gap, such as medication reconciliation or patient education, and document my experience in leadership with journaling. One of the objectives of my practicum is to enhance my skills in utilizing existing evidence in clinical decision-making. According to Fernández-Castro et al. (2023), this will assist me in contributing to the changes that enhance patient care. I will use databases such as CINAHL and PubMed to identify best practices in my site. I will also read research articles, summarize, and disseminate them to preceptors and staff.
