Security of information and health records is a matter of concern for any health care institution. In this age where different EHR vendors in the market claim to provide reliable and sufficient EHR platforms, it is important that one understands the services that different vendors provide for decision-making purposes. This request for information (RFI) is intended to provide information about different EHR vendors in the market and help potential clients make informed decisions when it comes to conducting them for EHR services. The first section summarizes the top five EHR vendors and the second section is an is an RFI intended to provide sufficient information from different EHR vendors in the market.
Summary of the top five EHR vendors
The choice of these HER vendors is based on the efficiency of their service delivery and the after-sale service they provide. The decision to consider them for listing is based on user reviews. This does not guarantee that the author has any conflict of interest in the listed EHR vendors.
CureMd EHR
CureMD provides all innovative health care information systems that can be used for decision-making in all health institutions. The company’s EHR systems can easily streamline operations, simplify decision making, and help the organization comply with the industry standards leading to reduced costs of operations and high returns on investment (CureMD, 2018). CureMD also provides onsite demos and continued free training for the staff. The choice for this vendor is due to the quality of services they offer as well as the highest positive reviews they have from the KLAS Research website.
Epic EHR
EPIC is cloud-based software that is used in different environments for securing data. The software can be easily modified to meet the requirements of the clientele. The primary use of the Epic software is to enhance patient engagement and facilitating remote care (Epic, 2018). I chose this vendor because of their focus on patient engagement in remote services. I believe that any health care institution can easily simplify its service delivery and increase output when it focuses on maximizing patient engagement. The possibility of modifying Epic modules to meet the changing needs also imply that the health institution will not need to incur costs of changing as technology changes.
AllScripts EHR software
This is an open platform EHR software for keeping health care record. The focus of this software is to streamline operations by bringing the community together in the clinical environment. Clinics can easily monitor the changes taking place without having field administrators. AllSctipts EHR services allow users to access data over mobile devices without travelling to the site. I chose this system due to its focus on community engagement and simplicity of access of data over mobile devices.
EclinicalWorks EHR
Eclinical Works used nine data centers in the United States to provide Grid storage of data in the cloud. This simplifies accessibility any time and enhances security even when there is data traffic. This vendor is well connected in the United States with thousands of doctors and health care professionals connected over its platform. This directed my choice as it is necessary to secure data on patients while at the same time making sure that it is easily accessible for decision-making.
Homecare Homebase
This is a cloud-based system that is intended to provide service delivery for clinicians and targeting the post-acute patients as well as those that are under the hospice care. The software simplifies service delivery by enhancing quality requirements and maximizing the standards of care for patients. I chose this vendor due to their focus on hospice and post-acute care.
Request for Information
The purpose of this RFI is to seek understanding of different vendors offering EHR services. This RFI will be used for decision making and as such, there is a need for all interested vendors to comply with the requirements stated here. The following requirements shall be used for selection criteria. This RFI will assist in decision-making when it comes to contacting vendors in future. All vendors are therefore, requirement to complete all the details in the response section by providing information required. Provision of demos will be an added advantage.
Instructions
Your response to this RFI will include responding to the RFI, paying non-refundable fee of $250, providing supporting materials, and providing demos whenever there is a need to do so. The health care institution reserves the right to modify or cancel this RFI any time and does not bear any responsibility to the vendor.
