Objective and Patient Profile
The primary objective for the entry-level student nurse in a pediatric specialty unit is to demonstrate effective communication and foundational assessment skills during routine evaluations of a pediatric patient. The patient profile is a 6-year-old child who has mild asthma and whose condition has worsened due to a viral respiratory infection.
