What I learn from sociological imagination that can connect to my life

Symbolic Interactionism Student’s Name Institution Course Number and Name Instructor’s Name Date Symbolic Interactionism A key concept from this week’s readings that I found most interesting is symbolic interactionism. It is quite enlightening to imagine how we assign meaning to things that dictate our behavior and actions in society. I found this concept appealing because it can help us explain why we do what we do and evaluate the environmental cues that shape our thoughts, attitudes, and actions. I also found symbolic interactionism appealing because it can help us understand and respond to other people better. When you meet a person from a culture that is different from your own, you may find it difficult to understand one another. With an understanding of how symbolic interactionism shapes one's actions, one may respond warmly to the other person. In this sense, if we understand the role of symbolic interactionism, we can be more accommodating of other people. Symbolic interactions directly relate to my life and experiences. Every time I include emojis in my conversations and social media posts, there are agreed meanings to them.
