I found the author's different heuristics that citizens employ during the decision-making process in politics quite interesting. Individual voters would not make decisions on candidates without assuming matters "by default." I am astonished that such voters do not realize how biased that might be. Aside from this category of voters, some voters rely on endorsements. I agree that there might be potential biases or errors when the approvals contradict the expectations of the voters or when there is uncertainty about the endorsed candidate. However, it is surprising that a candidate's appearance is also a determinant of political heuristics (Lau & Redlawsk, 2001). It never occurred that voters would take keenness on a candidate's image or that it would be a pathway to finding other information like race or likability.
