In the article, U.S. border policy of placing children in cages shows its thin veneer of civilization has torn beyond repair by Shree Paradkar dated Tuesday, June 19, 2018, it is clear that, the United States has crossed the line (Paradkar). There is a subtle violation of human rights and most importantly, in reference to the suffering that children have to endure. According to the BBC, children have been reportedly been held in cages (BBC). What is most surprising is the fact that, this is not a process that is happening for the first time (Paradkar). It has been going on for quite a while now and as highlighted in the article, the officials even lost track of more than 1500 children who are undocumented. There is need to establish a system where the children and their families are identified or better still are paced in the same facilities.
These are children and adults that are not correctly identified and placing them in different facilities only complicates the situation when it comes to reuniting them. It is important that the, children, their guardians and parents are placed in the same facilities. This is not only solves the issues of separation between children and their parents and matching them later on, but also resolves the conspiracy claims of people using children to get in. What is more unspeakable is the fact that, there is not even a policy that has been established to help with identifying the children with their parents. It is important that this is developed into a policy to protect the lives of the immigrants. This is simply unacceptable and the international community should rise to the occasion and pressure the United States to seize from practices that are simply inhuman (Paradkar).
It is agreeable that, treating immigrants like animals and more so placing the lives of the children in danger, is the height of impunity (Mark). It shows the level of American as an uncivilized society and governance. It raises question over their validity in the way they deal with other countries posing as the example of democracy and overthrowing presidents such as is the case in the Middle East. This is not democracy it is simply brutality and it is uncivilized (Paradkar).
Sincerely,

U.S. border policy of placing children in cages shows its thin veneer of civilization has torn beyond repair

Forgive me if I don’t get the big fuss around Laura Bush lambasting Donald Trump.
The former first lady wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post, castigating the U.S. President’s newly enforced zero-tolerance policy toward asylum seekers that in the past several weeks has officially seen more than 2,300 children separated from their parents. The parents are detained in federal facilities and, because children can’t be held there, they are being warehoused in cages.
The AP toured a holding facility in South Texas that's holding hundreds of immigrant children. While reporters were not allowed to record the tour, video released by border patrol shows them waiting in a series of cages created by metal fencing. (The Associated Press)
There are no regulations around properly identifying children, no plan toward reuniting them. Some parents are being deportedwithout their children.
This is heinous. There is no way around it. Ther...
