Intersectionality is a framework used to conceptualize people, groups, or social problems affected by discrimination and disadvantages in society. The intersectional theory argues that multiple sources of oppression often disadvantage people (Atewologun, 2018). These sources of oppression include gender identity, class, sexual orientation, race, and religion. These identity makers often overlap, creating a complex form of prejudice the oppressed face in the community. Among the most common oppressions that the intersectional theory address is gender pay inequality. According to Litman et al. (2020), women are paid less than men in equal tasks performed.
