This period is said to have begun in the year 1850 and ended in in 1920. The authors seek to determine if immigration played a role in the support of economic growth in the United States in this article. Theoretical Foundation The study carried out by Sequeira, Nunn, and Qian (2017) is based on the functionalist theory which defines society as an interconnected system, where all the parts of the society function in unison to promote stability and development.
