A healthcare provider needs to be competent and provide care with respect and compassion. The medical staff is responsible for respecting the law and the right of the patients by protecting their privacy and confidence. It is significant for physicians to study and apply scientific information by maintaining a commitment to medical education. A healthcare professional intends to participate in activities that are helpful to improve public health (Pozgar, 2020). The medical staff needs to remain honest in all professional interactions and try to report physicians lacking in character or competency.
Patient/Health care provider relationship and Principle
The relationship between physician and patient is based on trust. For that reason, a healthcare provider is responsible for placing the patient’s wellbeing above than any other obligation. A few principles that make that physician and patient relationship more vital include mutual decision making, compassion, and strong communication. Effectual communication between patient and healthcare provider enhances health outcomes because of improved patient satisfaction. The understanding of the patient increases through communication, and a better treatment option can opt through mutual decision making. As a nurse practitioner, I met a patient who is suffered from wide-ranging burns during an industrial accident. The patient was anxious and depressed (Kudeikina, 2016). With the help of effective communication, the patient was able to share his experience and condition with me in a convenient way. I prefer to communicate with the patient compassionately, along with checking vital signs such as breathing rate, pulse rate, and blood pressure.
