EA Repository Definition
An EA repository is the location where the enterprise stores EA artifacts. According to Abunadi (2019), an EA repository is the type of tool that an organization uses to maintain and document its IT architecture components. "The EA repository is intended to provide a single place for storage and retrieval of EA artifacts that are created using EA software applications (tools)." (Bernard, 2020 247). An EA repository provides a centralized location where authorized personnel may access all the information regarding EA artifacts. Notably, the best EA repository is where these artifacts are easy to use and access. In addition, the enterprise should locate this repository in its internal Local Area Network to enhance information security. Overall, the EA repository is a storage facility for the EA artifacts, and support staff, managers, and executives should be able to access them more easily.
How EA Repository Support the EA Implementation Methodology
EA repository is very crucial in the EA implementation methodology in dynamic ways. Foremost, the enterprise can get different views from various levels that may assist in changing or strengthening the implementation methodology. "One of the valuable aspects of having this approach to an EA repository is that the different levels of the enterprise can view complete perspectives of business and technology, which they otherwise might not be able to see" (Bernard, 2020 250).
