The statement “my morality is mine and mine alone…” is two-edged in that the first part cannot work in a normal society. The reason why countries have laws and culture is so that no one carries themselves as being above others. Therefore, although we are all at liberty to choose what is right and what is wrong, there are levels beyond which what we consider to be our own form of morality does not align with what is legally or culturally acceptable.
