I am troubled by the practice of altering photographs, especially in legitimate news media and advertisements, since it can mislead the public. However, changing photos is acceptable in artistic media. I agree that the media and its platforms are partly to blame for individuals developing negative body images. The press and its venues are filled with images of people with flawless bodies, and comparing oneself to these pictures can result in negative body perception. I agree with the statement that people who regularly take selfies are unhappier than those who do not take selfies.
