Forgiveness offers many social and moral benefits. For instance, when someone forgives, he releases his energy to be used for some healthy purpose (Brenner). Thus, forgiving someone invigorates someone and enables him to undertake more critical tasks.
Whenever a person holds a grudge against someone, he uses all his emotions of hatred and dislikes toward this person; consequently, he finds himself incapable of performing the more crucial task of his life. For example, if a student holds a grudge against a teacher for his mistreatment or rudeness, the student will not be able to concentrate on the teacher's teaching. Instead, he will always look forward to spotting defects in his teaching to settle the score. In doing so, the student will not be able to understand the subject, and this deviation from studies would affect his overall performance.
