The chapter on World War II brought on emotions of fear and anger about war. Previously I believed war was a necessary evil if our country is to succeed and remain safe. However, the events that occurred in WW II shocked me into changing my opinion. The pain and suffering that the affected nations and their people underwent are unwarranted experiences that nobody should endure. Worst of all, having long-term effects that affect generations to come, such as in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombing case, made me think of the numerous people struggling with infertility and miscarriages and how their pain and loss are debilitating. Thus, with such pain and misery globally, why would we need war, such as WWII, to add to it?
