Putting a Value on Nature
Pavan Sukhdev urges us to recognize the economic valuation of services from nature. In the video, he says that nature should be made economically visible. I agree with this statement because if the benefits we obtain from nature are attached to some monetary value, people will need to conserve them. A case in point is the question he poses whether bees give an invoice for pollination. Ideally, no one has ever thought of the amount of money pollination would cost, and it calls for the need to conserve nature.
