The above figure reveals a four-generation lineage of a family, beginning from the great grandparents to my respondent. The family I chose to represent was that of a close friend, whom we became friends with at a young age and thus I have an excellent understanding of their family structure. Besides, the individual was free with me out of trust and shared most of the details freely. The structure was patrilineal because the descent is through the male line. The lineage included the deceased great-grandparents. These great grandparents had three children, two males, and a lady. Unfortunately, one of the males was deceased, leaving behind a male and a female. The remaining male was the grandfather to my respondent. His father did not have any siblings and after marrying, he chose to continue staying at his home, and hence the family was patrilocal. At their home, they are two males and a female.
